08/23/06 Loeb Fellowship More...
Damon Rich, founder and Creative Director of CUP, has been named a Loeb Fellow at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. Damon will be in residence at Harvard for the 2006-2007 academic year.
Founded in 1970, the Loeb Fellowship provides a year of independent study at Harvard for mid-career professionals in fields related to the built and natural environment. Primarily the focus is on architects, landscape architects, urban planners, and urban designers. Professionals in related fields such as filmmaking, journalism, non-profit administration, the arts, and government service have also been Loeb Fellows.
Upon his departure, Damon will resign his position as CUP’s Creative Director, allowing him to devote more energy to his responsibilities as Chair of CUP’s Board of Directors. While in Boston, he will also be working on CUP’s project on redlining and the representation of risk at MIT’s Center for Advanced Visual Studies.
The everyday activities of the CUP office will be in the capable hands of Rosten Woo, who will work with Damon and the rest of the Board of Directors to continue and extend CUP’s programming.
08/22/06 Hello Valeria More...
We’re pleased to announce that Valeria Mogilevich has joined CUP as our Project Assistant. Valeria comes to us from an education in semiotics and several years of experience working in small arts organizations. Already in her short tenure at CUP she has written grant applications, created animations about sewage, helped tame the always threatening chaos of the office, worked with students from the Bronx Helpers to create an information kiosk and series of zines, and helped prepare curricula for the Academy of Urban Planning. We are privileged to have her as part of the CUP family.
